Before We Meet…

Hello friend! If you’re here, that means you have registered for one of our upcoming workshops. We are so excited to write with you! Before we meet, we wanted to communicate a few important things.

First of all, we ask that you download the PDF, “Safety In The Fold.” This document outlines the AWA Method and acts as an agreement of sorts for each of us who will write together. The importance and beauty of what we do depends upon our commitment to uphold these practices. Once you read it, please sign and return to us at contact@thefold.us.

Secondly, if you haven’t already, we highly recommend you purchase and read How The Light Gets In by Pat Schneider. This book has become a guiding light for us as a community and one of the main reasons we do this work today. We believe in the gift of the AWA Method that Pat was instrumental in founding and so we like to share that gift with our participants through her book. We will not discuss Pat’s book so there is no requirement to buy it, however, we believe you will love it as much as we do!

Finally, we would like to ask that you watch the video below. On one of her trips to Amherst, Massachusetts to write with Pat, Leslie Jordan asked Pat to share some thoughts for first-time workshop participants. There are some hidden gems in Pat’s message for you!
